Albert Park Community Association
Our Volunteer Board & Volunteers
The Albert Park Board of director by-laws allow for a maximum of 15 directors.
Five directors also serve as the officers of the not-for-profit organization.
The role of the 10 directors is to take an active part in the direction of the association and its programs and shall endevour to serve in whatever capacity he or she may be called upon to fulfil, without remuneration.
Colleen joined the board in 2009 as treasurer and moved to co-president in 2017. She also helps coordinate the Crafting Classes and Engineering for Kids programs. In addition, her family changes the community sign board and volunteers on the soccer organizing committee.
Stella joined the APCA board 1999 in the role of secretary. Since that time, she has been a director, treasure, president, soccer coordinator, assistance sign changer with her son, and now past president.
Stella and her family moved into the APCA community when their son started elementary school at Ecole Massey in the French Immersion Program. Programs the family has participated in are Learn to skate, power skate, soccer, and pickle ball.
Stella has carried on a family practice of volunteering in the community in which they live. Without volunteers, many activities can not happen, and many facilities do not remain open
Director, Awards Coordinator
Kevin’s passion for aviation makes him an excellent fit for the APCA Airport Committee. Kevin and his family have called Albert Park home for the last 16 years, where he has volunteered many hours in the community as t-ball and soccer coaches for his children.
Kevin can be found helping out on many APCA committees, and at his kids’ events, if not at the airport.
Open Volunteer Opportunities
APCA is currently in need of directors and volunteers who are interested in serving as the:
- Co-President – shapes and guides the future of APCA . This individual will also review project proposals, manage operations, and organize meetings in a shared role with your Co-President.
- Child/Youth Programmer – bring new programs to the community for our children and youth.
- Senior Programmer – bring new programs to the community for seniors.
- Outdoor Soccer Coordinator – work with the South Zone Soccer committee to organize outdoor soccer in the spring.
Judy and her family have lived in Albert Park since 1992. During her career as a teacher, teacher-librarian and as Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Library Association, she had responsibility for technology and for website maintenance. As a retiree she decided to contribute to the community by using her technology skills for the website.
Matt Vaughn, the previous web master, and her son, Samuel Morrison are contributing to the steep learning required to adjust to new applications in the software.
Secretary, Free Skate Coordinator
I live in Albert park and started volunteering with APCA in 2017. I enjoy volunteering and being involved in the community. We really love this area and the Realtors park is a family favorite spot.
Director, Membership Coordinator
Donna is the Membership Coordinator and Adult Badminton Coordinator for APCA.

Director, PM Fitness Coordinator
Elaine has served the APCA Board since 1988. Was the Coordinator for both AM & PM Fitness until 1993. Since 1993 has been the PM Fitness Coordinator. Elaine is always aware of the latest fitness trends, and tries to keep our class on the cutting edge of fitness ideas.
Added a PM Yoga Class in 2017.
Many APCA residents attend the SLC gym two or three evening a week to keep them selves healthy by participating in these classes. Elaine works hard to find instructors who are educated in their skill area and who the participants like to work out with.
Elaine and husband Herman keep the equipment and sound system clean and in great shape for all the participants to enjoy.
Director, South Zone Rep, Summer Bash
Adam has been involved with APCA since 2016. He has enjoyed witnessing the commitment of so many community members willing to volunteer their time.
He has loved building the Summer Bash with the community and can’t wait to see where we take it!
Shantelle and her family have lived in Albert Park since 2014. She began volunteering with APCA in 2019 as the Program Coordinator to assist with programs in the community. Shantelle and her family are often out for walks or a bike ride in the neighbourhood, enjoying all of the parks and playgrounds.
